SEA PALLING

A small, quiet, East Coast seaside resort, with blue flag beach and jet-ski centre. |
|
An Introduction to Sea Palling
|
Sea Palling is a small, quiet family seaside resort on the East Norfolk Coast. This wonderful, blue flag, sandy beach is deserted for most of the year and is a great place for a walk. A number of reefs have been built as part of the coast defences and it calms the waves making Sea Palling an ideal place to swim or for children to play. There are plenty of facilities for such a small resort, including a pub, cafe, tea room, shop and small amusement arcade. Sea Palling also is home to a jet-ski centre. |

We start our tour of Sea Palling at the ramp up and over the sea defences to the beach, which has the village lifeboat station at the top. There is a flood gate at the top of the ramp, which is closed when there is a threat of a storm surge, this offers some protection from flooding, one of the measures that was taken after the devastating floods in 1953, which affected so much of this area of the Norfolk Coast. |

The beach at Sea Palling is simply stunning - one of the best on the Norfolk Coast. For most of the year you can walk for miles and hardly see anybody else! Offshore man-made reefs calm the water
and this makes the beach a wonderful safe place to relax or walk the dog ( pets welcome on limited parts of the beach all year round). Along the coast, sand dunes separate the low lying land from the sea.
The dunes give great views of the coast and surrounding countryside. |

Just off the beach is a pub called Reefs Bar. The pub has regular live music events, football on a big screen and is open all day. Another pub can be found in the village itself. |
