Reopening of Sheringham Level Crossing on the North Norfolk Railway. 2.15pm.
A red letter day in the history not just of the Poppy Line, but of railway preservation. At 2.15pm that day, Britannia steam loco no.70013 Oliver Cromwell will bring the first passenger train over the crossing for 46 years. The opening ceremony will be performed by Pete Waterman, OBE, emphasising the importance of the event to the preservation movement as a whole. |

Celebration Steam Gala, North Norfolk Railway. Day Rover Tickets £13.
Locos definitely confirmed are N2 1744, N7 69621, J15 65462 and Ring Haw, plus a diesel loco. An intensive 6-train service is being scheduled each day, and the Quad-Art set will be in operation. Vintage buses will be running in support. |

Norfolk Charity Ball at Sprowston Manor. Tickets £40. Street Child of Sierra Leone are hosting a fabulous Charity Ball at the Norfolk Suite located in the beautiful grounds of Sprowston Manor, Norwich on the 26th March 2010.
This spectacular evening will consist of welcome drinks, a delicious three course meal with wine, auction/raffle and disco. There will also be a short presentation from the charity. Guests will include General Sir Richard Dannatt, former head of the British army and Chloe Smith local MP who will also be the after dinner speaker. |

The Bygones Museum, with its exhibition of domestic and agricultural memorabilia, complements the grandeur of the Hall and allows visitors to relive memories, or learn about life in times gone by. The adjacent History of Farming Exhibition illustrates how a great estate such as Holkham works and has evolved. |

Easter Egg Hunt and Fun Day at Barningham Hall.
Entry £3 (adults £1.50). Families from across North Norfolk are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt and Fun Day at the historic Barningham Hall, Matlaske, NR11 7HY, on Saturday 3rd April, between 11am and 3.30pm. As well as an Easter Egg trail around the gardens and Hall, children will be able to take part in activities such as crafts and face painting. A hog roast will be served at lunchtime with teas, coffees and home-made cakes will be available throughout the day. |

Craft and Food Fair, Sandringham. Entry £6.
Quality crafts from some of the country's finest artists, designers and craftsmen will be on display this year, together with demonstrations of many rare and unusual skills. Fairy Fair, Holt Hall. Tickets around £6.50.
Fun, magic and nature comes to Holt Hall this spring as the Fairyland Trust’s renowned Fairy Fair makes a return. The Norfolk based charity with a national reputation for introducing families to flowers, wildlife and trees through magical creations will run the fair amidst the stunning 35 hectares of gardens, ancient woods and lakes over the late may bank holiday.
The Fair will feature nine of the Fairyland Trusts workshops including: Magic Wands, Magic Wings, Fairy Crowns, Fairy Gardens, Wildflower Fairies, Wizard Shields, Magic Potions, Fairy Books and Witches Pets. A great day out for the entire family, other activities include Pixie Post office, storytelling, Pirate Fete, trails to the Fairy Queen, Cooking with Trolls, music, puppet shows plus craft and food stalls and much more. |

Royal Norfolk Show. The Royal Norfolk Show is the largest two day agricultural show in the Country, with a reputation for still maintaining its agricultural element. The Show is host to a large variety of livestock and horses, small livestock, cookery theatre and food hall, countryside area with displays and woodland crafts, village green entertainment and two full days of Grand Ring entertainment for all the family with free grandstand seating. If you have never experienced a county show before don't miss out, we offer over 10 hours of entertainment for everyone. |

Craft and Food Fair, Sandringham. Living Heritage Craft Shows return to Sandringham in July, offering skills such as wood turning, glass blowing and lace making, as well as falconry displays, ferret races and puppet shows throughout the day. Cromer Carnival. Carnival Day 18th August. A week long traditional summer Carnival of family fun and events culminates in a Carnival Day procession around the town featuring floats, fancy-dress, pull-and push-along vehicles and much more. |

Sandringham Game and Country Show. The Game and Country Show was a new event for Sandringham, and we are delighted that it will be returning this September. Whole areas devoted to falconry, fishing, wildfowling, archery and many other country sports and pursuits, together with lots of activities for families (and their dogs!) makes this event a true celebration of country living. |

Model Railway Exhibition, Bure Valley Railway. Broadland Model Railway Club in Conjunction with Bure Valley Railway - Aylsham Model Railway Exhibition located at the Jubilee Centre, Aylsham. Special connecting train service from Wroxham at 10:00 to convey passengers to Aylsham which includes a super deal ticket, particularly if pre-booked for all inclusive admission to the exhibition, as well as the return train journey. |

Altogether Now! on the North Norfolk Railway. Wanted - Children to help run the Poppy Line! Here's a rather special half term treat! The Poppy Line is offering children the chance to help run the railway and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes. Altogether Now is happening this weekend! Find out how an engine works, watch the signalman operate the signal box, wave the flags for the guard. What does a stationmaster do? Visit Professor Fanthorpe to learn about the science of steam, listen to railway stories, sing railway songs and even visit the engine & carriage shed. But watch out for Morgan the Railway Cat! |
