Catfield is a Broadland village, situated just north of
Potter Heigham and east of
Barton Broad. For many years the village has been associated with the boat building industry, even though it is not directly on the water. An industrial estste on the edge of the village still contains several companies making various parts for the marine industry. The village itself is mainly residential, with a fair proportion being holiday homes. The village contains a shop, pub and an impressive medieval church. The local area is beautiful rural countryside and ideal for walking or cycling.
